I first saw my local "dump" here in Wawarsing back in the early nineties piling furniture up and burning it. I've never used them for my trash prefering to pay private companies. This agency needs to be retired. We need to stop subsidizing residents' garbage production.
Listen, there is nothing really that bad at what I call the recycling center. It obviously takes some work to go thru personal garbage. I'ld rather go thru my personal garbage, sort the items out. Does it really make sense to throw all your garbage into one bag and pay for each bag? No. Just alone one bag can be full of things that can be manufactured again. I always recycle, it makes me feel good, plus it saves me money. Also now when I shop I am now also thinking about the garbage that is being accumulated. For example would I buy canned, frozen, or fresh products. I do not know, sometimes people really ought to think. Ellenville and the immediate surrounding towns need to do something. How many times do they think the government will bail them out.
