UC_Client#11_a/k/a_Elliott'sAdvisor said...: The policy of UC DSS regarding receipt of cash payments from clients in participation of medicaid needs to be amended as follows:

1) Only personal check, money order or bank draft will be accepted.

2) Such monies received shall be deposited in a safe specifically designed to accept deposits without it physically being opened. i.e. a slot on top so that the document(s) drops to the bottom.

3) At the close of business each day, the safe will be opened by a supervisor. The receipts will be accounted for and documented, then turned over to the Department of Finance.; August 31, 2009 at 8:05 AM

This is less about theft and more about stewardship....less about the cash and more about the culture...it really speaks to internal controls, cash management and "minding the store".; August 31, 2009 at 5:10 PM
