In seeking a budget increase, it is in your best interest to compare your office's current budget with that of other counties with comparative population. Are the other municipalities duties consistent with their charter or the standard model form of county government? Has the Comptroller's office assumed additional duties not specified by law? With the passage of time the Comptroller's Office will evolve from its initial functions as others in adjacent counties did.
